Dear Parents,

We write regarding an important action required of each family as we continue to support Singapore’s efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The Committee for Private Education (CPE) have asked us to gather information related to recent or planned travel of our students to mainland China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) between 3 February and 31 July 2020. Since our last request covered the period up until 3 February, this is new information. Similar to our last request, all families must respond to the request for information, even if it is just to say that your children have not travelled, nor will they travel, to mainland China before 31 July.

The request is in response to recent guidance regarding the Stay-Home Notice (which replaces the LoA), and expectations for anyone who returns to Singapore after visiting China. While other countries may come under the same guidance in the future, for now China is the main focus. This is part of an overall effort from the Singapore authorities. Many of you will have seen in the news or heard from your employers that the efforts include all Government bodies including the immigration authority.

We are aware that plans are evolving and ask you to complete the information via the CIMS Family Portal (our online database), which will allow you to make updates and additions as plans change.

You can log in here or connect via the temperature-taking link on the front page of the main website. You will need to declare if any of your children are currently in China: or if you have any plans for them to visit China between 3 February and 31 July. We ask you to please complete by tomorrow, Friday, 21 February at 5pm. You can return later to add or edit travel plans if necessary.

We will be reporting to CPE twice each week. We ask you to join us as we all do our part to support Singapore, and our colleagues and friends in China and the region, by following Government guidelines.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Bray, Head of UWCSEA Dover
Graham Silverthorne, Head of UWCSEA East
