Dear Parents,
We write to inform you that a parent of two students on Dover Campus, who returned to Singapore on the evening of Friday, 6 November, has tested positive for COVID-19. The parent had a swab test on arrival and was self-isolating at home, and the students did not participate in any school activities over the weekend or come to school today, as per College guidelines. Thankfully, the parent is doing well and is under the care of the Singapore health authorities.
As is usual in such cases, the Ministry of Health (MoH) is conducting contact tracing. Neither the parent nor the students had contact on campus with students or staff from UWCSEA after the parent returned to Singapore. Students will remain at home until they are given permission to return by the MoH.
As more members of our community return to Singapore, it remains critical that we all continue to follow protocols, keeping travel and health declarations up to date and monitoring our health and that of our families closely. A further advisory regarding travel over the December break will be sent to parents in the coming days.
As always, we will inform you if a student, parent or staff member becomes a confirmed COVID-19 case. Together, we can keep our community safe and healthy.
Yours sincerely,
Elizabeth Bray, Head of UWCSEA Dover
Graham Silverthorne, Head of UWCSEA East
