Dear Parents,

Yesterday evening we learned that a member of our security team on Dover Campus was admitted to hospital in the morning and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. He is currently in ICU under the care of medical staff. We have been in touch with his family, who are now all under a Quarantine Order, and have assigned two staff members to liaise with them and ensure that they have food delivered and anything else they might need.

In the last 14 days, the staff member was only on campus on one day – Saturday, 25 April – when he visited Dover Campus between 8am and 12noon. We have spoken with team members on duty that day and we know his movements through the campus. We sanitised all the areas he visited (Facilities office, fire command centre and the security post) this morning and are tracing his minimal contact with staff in the previous 14 days. We will be liaising with the Ministry of Health (MoH) for next steps. 

The staff member has been at the College for many years. Our thoughts are with him and his family, and we will do everything we can to support them in the coming weeks and months.
