Dear Parents,

On Friday evening Singapore moved to DORSCON Alert Level Orange. The measures under DORSCON orange are consistent with those put in place by the College last week. However, we would like to draw your attention to some important measures that need your support.

Temperature Checking
We remind all parents that temperature checking of students before they leave for school each morning is compulsory. Temperature taking at home is the first line of defence and we are now asking parents to register that they have done it formally.

At registration, teachers will check on the system that a child’s temperature has been taken. We remind parents that a student must be fever-free without medication for 24 hours (temperature below 37.5C) before returning to school.

The College will continue to take the temperature of our youngest students (K1 to Grade 2) every day. We will also continue to randomly take temperatures of students from Grades 3 to 12 every day and send any student with a temperature of 37.6C or above to the Clinic. Parents who send their children to school with a temperature will be required to come to school to collect them and there will be a follow-up from the College.

Entrance to the Campuses
From tomorrow, Tuesday, 11 February, we are requiring all students, parents and visitors to go through the main entrance to each campus to allow us to ensure appropriate screening. On Dover, we will be closing the AYE and NUS side gates temporarily. On East, we will be locking all gates and entrances (including those in the carpark), with entry and exit only via the main entrance turnstiles. This will help us to keep our community safe and well.

Travel Advisory
The Committee of Private Education (CPE) may require us to collect further information on our community’s individual travel plans. We are waiting for confirmation and will be in touch as soon as we have further information. We thank you in advance for your support of this information-gathering.

Parents at School
As always, we ask you to confine your visits to campus to essential visits only. We trust that any parent who comes on campus for any reason has not visited China or had visitors in their home from Hubei Province since 14 January; arriving on campus is the same as a self-declaration that you are also following these conditions. If you are picking up your children, please do not linger too long on campus.

Thank you again for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Bray, Head of UWCSEA Dover
Graham Silverthorne, Head of UWCSEA East
