Dear Parents,
I am pleased to launch the UWCSEA Financial Relief Programme (FRP), designed to support families who have had a sudden unexpected change of circumstance and are seeking short-term financial relief in the form of a contribution towards UWCSEA school fees for their children.
In developing the programme, which will be a permanent programme at the College, Governors and leadership kept several principles in mind: care for our community; fiscal responsibility; and fairness. With limited funds, our aim is to ensure that awards are given to those families who are most in need of short-term relief. We have developed the FRP Policy accordingly and hope it is helpful in outlining both the intention and the execution of the programme.
Applications for the FRP are now open. You can apply through the College CIMS system here (you will need to log in) and we hope this set of FAQs will help to answer any questions you may have. You can also make general enquiries about the programme on financialrelief@uwcsea.edu.sg.
The closing date for applications is 11.59pm on Tuesday, 30 June. All applications will be reviewed in full by the FRP Review Panel, which I will be chairing. Outcomes will be communicated to families by Friday, 17 July at the latest.
We recognise that going through the process will require families applying to share highly sensitive financial data with us. I want to assure you that any data gathered during the process will only be used for the purpose of making award decisions and will only be accessible to the FRP Panel. Data will be managed according to data protection legislation, including for audit purposes.
The FRP is funded by operational savings and donations. If any family would like to support fellow community members by contributing to the FRP, please click here.
Thank you all for your ongoing support of the College and our community.
Yours sincerely,
Carma Elliot CMG OBE
College President
