Dear Parents,

We are delighted to be writing to you now to share the latest update from CPE which signifies the transition to 'DORSCON Yellow' and contains considerable easing of safe management measures for our students. These changes came into effect on Tuesday of this week (26 April), and you can read them below.

Summary of CPE changes:

  • Group sizes for students eating together have increased from ‘five’ to ‘unlimited’.
  • No more TraceTogether check-ins on campus so entrances that have been closed previously due to SafeEntry will now be reopened.
  • Cessation of manual contact tracing for Infant Students.
  • No vaccination differentiation measures for participation in mask-off activities. This means that there is no longer a requirement for unvaccinated students to upload an ART test on Sunday evenings in order to participate in mask-off activities.
  • Unvaccinated students may participate in events with no more than 500 participants. If the event is larger than 500 participants an ART test will be required in order for unvaccinated students to participate.
  • Team sports are now possible on a larger scale

With this relaxation of measures comes the increased responsibility to protect the health of our entire community and we must also continue to respect the prevailing CPE requirements.

We remind you to please keep the following in mind:

  • you must be vaccinated in order to come onto campus
  • please wear your mask in air-conditioned spaces
  • please do not come to campus if you are feeling unwell or have specific symptoms of Covid-19
  • in keeping with College policy, please do not send your child(ren) to school if they show any signs of being unwell (Covid-19 related, or otherwise)
  • wear your UWCSEA parent lanyard at all times when on campus

These updates are very welcome news and we are hopeful for more positive updates in the coming months.

With one day left before the week ends, we wish you all a lovely long weekend ahead and for those who celebrate it, a very happy Hari Raya.

Yours sincerely,
Nick Alchin, Head of UWCSEA East
Elizabeth Bray, Head of UWCSEA Dover
